Warkworth Garden Club
AIM The aim of the Warkworth Garden Club is to provide members with opportunities to share gardening knowledge and enjoyment through a varied programme of monthly activities.
The Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise stated, as indicated in the six monthly programme.
The Warkworth Garden Club began some time in the 1980's but no written records were kept until 1990 when a bank account was opened. The Club's main programme revolves around garden visits either by car pooling or bus. At least two meetings are held indoors each year. Membership remains around 100 or more financial members.
It is regrettable that due to the uncertainty of restrictions relating to Covid-19, the Rose & Flower Show 2021 has been cancelled.
2021 will be the 22nd year the Club has staged the historic, annual Warkworth Rose & Flower Show which was first staged about 1921 by the former Warkworth and District Beautifying Society. The oldest trophy awarded each year is the magnificent Perpetual Challenge Rose Bowl dating back to 1928. Since then it has evolved until this particular trophy was first awarded in 1941.
